Ulster Secondary Schools Swimming Gala

Congratulations to three Clounagh pupils who competed in this year's Ulster Secondary Schools Swimming Gala, claiming the following awards (left to right): Jordan (Silver 100m Breast Stroke & Bronze 200m Individual Medley); Stefan (Gold Individual Medley & Gold Breast Stroke); Claire (Bronze 200m Individual Medley).

Aimhigher Roadshow

The Aimhigher Roadshow high-tech trailer visits Clounagh Junior High School annually to provide pupils with clear information on the routes to Higher Education and on the financial support available to students in HE. The Aimhigher Roadshow experience has been designed to promote the benefits and dispel the myths about HE. It acts also as a tool to motivate and inspire pupils who might not otherwise have considered aiming for study at university.

EW pupils enjoy a Geography field trip to River Colin in Belfast, studying erosion and deposition.

Girls win tug-of-war

Various teams of boys and girls battled it out all day for the trophy in this year's Christmas Tug-of-War contest. When it finally came down to one team of boys versus one team of girls, the boys were just no match. Well done, girls!

Art teacher runs NY Marathon for charity

Miss Fleming (Art & Design teacher) with Year 8 pupils, who presented her with a cheque for £318 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief.

Children from AB took part in selling quiz sheets for Macmillan Cancer, raising an additional £126. Elaine (middle row, far left) came up with the idea, and Jenna & Amy (3rd and 4th from left) sold the most sheets.

Hair-raising science experiment

All Year 8 classes had an opportunity to experiment with static electricity using the Van de Graaff generator, during Science class. Here is a gallery of hair-raising results for your amusement.
