Belated news: Letters to G8 leaders

In 2005 several charities focused the attention of the world on the millions of children worldwide who live in poverty and are unable to go to school. The campaign culminated in concerts and protests in Edinburgh coinciding with the G8 Summit.

Class EB produced models to represent some of the disadvantaged children. These were taken to Edinburgh for the G8 Summit. The class also entered a competition in which they wrote letters to the leaders of the G8 countries. Three pupils won the top prizes for the Key Stage 3 level. Left to right: Rachel (1st), Sarah (2nd), Rachel (3rd).

In addition to individual prizes, the class received a certificate and a selection of books for the school library. Well done, EB!
